Swipe, press the arrow keys or use the buttons to slide every tile as far as it will go. When two tiles with the same number touch they merge into one with double the value. Reach 2048, then keep going for a higher score.
How to play
Every move adds a new 2 or 4 to the board. Each merge adds the new tile's value to your score. The game ends when the board is full and no two neighbouring tiles match.
Strategy
- Pick a corner. Keep your biggest tile in one corner and never move it out.
- Use only three directions. Mostly slide towards the corner side and use the fourth direction only when you must.
- Build a snake. Keep tiles in descending order along an edge so merges chain along it.
- Merge small tiles early. Clutter in the middle is what ends most games.
- Look one move ahead. Check what the new tile could block before you slide.
